Many of our competitors use the MoFi router. We choose not to use that product due to its limited capabilities, particularly from a Carrier Aggregation Standpoint. Our solution is a much more robust solution that includes GPS capabilities, RS-232 Capabilities, and also includes AC Wi-Fi using 3x MIMO for maximum transmission speed. The 3x carrier aggregation means you will get up to 3x the speed you would get with many of our competitors solutions. The small upcharge initially, is well worth the investment when you look at the long term use of the product.

Mobile hotspots are available from the carriers, but the data plans they use are limited, throttled, and prioritized to the point that they may become unusable. In general, they don’t allow for external antenna connections as well, further limiting your connectivity and speed. Our solution provides unthrottled and unlimited data, with a host of antenna options.

Yes, you can, but you will have to be able to get power to the device. We offer a cigarette lighter power adapter as an optional accessory and a wiring kit for marine and vehicle installations. The unit ships with a 110V AC adapter for home use.

Yes, it is unlimited data, however Carriers may at their discretion prioritize data during heavy usage periods, just like with your cell phone.

Once you pay the membership fee and your first month’s (or annual) service, you are a member of losethecord.com and will have access to our support team (Monday-Friday 8-5 EST). You will be billed automatically for each month (or year) that you remain a member. When you want to terminate your membership, just call into our sales line and a support member will terminate your membership, send you a confirming email, and will provide you the information to return your mobile router. As long as you are a member, the equipment is covered for any defects in manufacturing for the life of your membership.

It will vary based on your carrier. Our solution is focused on providing data support, not phone support. For a home install, we will recommend a YAGI antenna installation as it will greatly improve your reception to receive data. Often, you can get excellent internet even when your cell phone reception may be unreliable.

There is no limit. We will only ship your order to the billing address of your credit card.

There is no setup. The router will be fully configured and setup out of the box for you. Just plug it in anywhere, the device will secure a signal and you are ready to go. There will be a sticker on the top of the router that will let you know the SSID (the name of the router), as well as the password to access the mobile hotspot.

If you would like to change the name of your hotspot from the pre-configured name supplied on the router just call in and our support team will assist you in modifying the name to meet your needs.

Yes, you can become a dealer. Just complete the application on our website, and once approved, you can participate in our dealer program. Call our sales associates for more details. Your company will also be listed an installer so our customers can call you and hire you to do installations.

Just like on land, your boat will need to be within range of a cell tower to obtain signal. We offer a marine grade antenna that can be mounted on your boat to extend the range. Typical connectivity range is 7-10 miles, but with a good signal and our antenna, it could be up to 15-20 miles from shore if the antenna is high enough.

The mobile router can accept up to 250 devices.

The current version of our mobile router is NOT 5G. In the future, when 5G is widespread, we will have a 5G version available.

Absolutely. We have an antenna solution designed for trucks and RV’s. We recommend that you have the antenna professionally installed. The mobile router will run on 12V using the optional lighter adapter, or by using the 110V AC adapter supplied with the router.

Absolutely. We have antennas that we can recommend for trucks. We also have a magnetic base antenna if you move between trucks.

Yes, if the signal is good enough. We also provide the apple TV as an optional accessory for you to enjoy TV using your mobile router.

We do not have a contract, but there are terms and conditions with your membership. You can view these online and they will be emailed to you when you sign up for your membership. You can cancel your membership and return the mobile router at any time.

No. Antennas and accessories are not returnable. However, upon cancellation you must return the router in 2 weeks from cancellation. If you fail to return the router, you will be charged $350.

Our preferred carrier for LoseTheCord.com is T-Mobile/Sprint. The reason we use T-Mobile/Sprint is based on several key reasons.

1. T-Mobile/Sprint has a very good nationwide coverage map for LTE.
2. With the merger with T-Mobile, Sprint will have the very best coverage for LoseTheCord.com customers.
3. T-Mobile/Sprint utilizes Band 41 (2500mhz). This band is different than the rest since it uses the TDD LTE technology rather than FDD LTE like everyone else in the US. What this means is that in this band you get higher allocation for the downlink stream than the uplink. This band is a high speed 4G LTE band that has much higher throughput that other carriers. For example, the 2500Mhz band is much higher than the 1900Mhz band that Verizon use for LTE data. Also, since the T-Mobile/Sprint merger is complete, Band 71 (600Mhz) will be available to LoseTheCord.com customers which means longer distance transmissions from Cellular towers and better building penetration.
